Not getting notifications

I'm suddenly not getting notifications of responses to topics. I checked my notification preferences and they haven't changed. Glitch in the system?

Couple of thoughts. Temporary slowdowns in outgoing mail are not uncommon as our web host funnels all mail through a few mail servers. Typically if something happens to one of the mail servers mail might be delayed for a bit and then arrive in a clump a few hours (maybe a day) later. I've been getting notifications of new registrations, so at some level things are working per normal.

Another thing that happens is sometimes our own mail filters start noticing auto-generated mail and flagging it as spam. Check your junk/spam folders to see if your mail program filtering them into junk mail.

Looking at your profile I see that your ISP is one that has in the past periodically blocked ALL mail originating at our web host. If I get reports of others using the same ISP not getting auto-generated emails I'll know that's what's happening. If that turns out to be the case, all I can do is tell our web host we're being blocked; all you can do is ask your web host to stop blocking dreamhost.

Me neither, but I haven't investigated. I just assumed I changed my preferences on accident. I will check all those things.

Thanks for the info, Brad. I got a few notifications today, so maybe they're just delayed. Darned internet!
