In need of a summer treat?

Demps and I went out to see everybody in the gator. We took a watermellon along, cuz' Pepper loves them. I shot a video and I tried to cut it, but it wouldn't cut in the right places. There is not much of Dempsy in it, but the best part with Demps is at the end when Pepper needs a little Cairn dental floss. Just skip through it if you are not amused with a horses mouth. The old cow trying to get up ... that's how I look sometimes.

Always beware of a horse with a sense of humor. That's my Pep. Hope you all are enjoying the summer!

I bet the back of the Gator was a little sticky afterwards. Pepper sure does a good job of cleaning out a watermelon! Dempsy looked a little impatient - "Why do we have to stop to feed this dumb horse, mom?" - and then "Ewww! Horse spit!"

And the old cow: I know what you mean. I look like that when I have to get up off the floor after playing with the dogs.

I had no idea horses like watermelon (AND know to leave the rind) or that Cairn fur was good for cleansing a horse's palate .

When I was a kid the small towns used to have pet parades. All the kids got to bring their pets to town for the big parade. Very fun time for all, they don't do that anymore - anyway I would always lead my pony "Rusty" and riding him was my little rat terrior "Puppen." Puppen road that pony down the whole three blocks. Rusty would always enjoy watermelon with the kids after the parade.

Peppy will eat some of the rind, but she knows the good stuff. After our feeding we went to the shop and sprayed it down - Demps thought that was a little over the edge for a horse.

The poor old cow I can relate to that. I'm not that bad yet, but if I have been in the floor for awhile I have a terrible time getting up. I'm sure it gets worse with age.

Pep licking Demps is just so cute. I wanted to hug them both.
