What tricks do you play on your Cairn?

Several times a day, Zekey and I are both upstairs. I'll walk out of my room, and Zekey darts ahead and dashes down the stairs. This gives me a chance to pause in the hallway, out of sight, and just wait. Zekey will usually figure out that I didn't follow him down, and go back upstairs to see what is keeping me. So of course, I'll jump out and surpise him! He gets disgusted and runs back down the stairs. I LOVE this game, but not so sure that he does!

Sometimes he suspects that I might not follow him, and keeps looking back, checking to see if I'm on my way. Silly boy!

Great game but I can only imagine what he thinks of it! Think their sense of humor only extends to what they do. They don't find it at all humorous when you trick them.

Poor litte Zekey, you make him run those stairs again to check on you. And what does he get for it? A good scare and a chase back down the steps. What fun!

Demps and I are playing all the time. We chase each other around and like you, while running, I will dart inside the bathroom and hide around the corner and wait .... Dempsy knows I am there ... he will wait ... finally one of us will have to make a move - either he peaks around the corner or I will jump out with a scream - Demps will do one of his wonderful butt rolls and away we go again around the house - room to room and then we both collapse on the living room floor. Demps is huffing and I am huffing and we are both smiling.

Every day Pegi and I play a game - I call it Let Mom in the basement to feed the cats, or take laundry, etc. If Pegi even sees me anywhere near the basement door she sits right in front of it - there's cat food down there! So my solution is to feed the cats before I get Pegi out of the kids' room. This works great in the morning, but not so well when I'm doing laundry or need something from the freezer in the basement. Sometimes I will throw a treat, works about half the time. Usually I flip the light on and race down before she can stick her face in the door. She does beat me once in a while, then we play chase the cairn down the stairs....she always ends up at the cats' dishes...

I do the same thing with Packy & Kirby, letting them run downstairs ahead of me, but I don't follow! Kirby likes the scare part of it, too! Packy pretends like he's going to get me and they both do the butt wiggle.

Kelly will chase me through the mobile home and I dart behind something quickly, Then jump out, she turns and does the zoomie run in the other direction with me chasing her. I'm not sure

if she likes it or not but since she still chases me I assume she does. She is so cute, I love to watch her little butt flying like that. LOL

Because she's apparently able to read a clock, Buffy always knows when I should be arriving home from work. She yaps her head off and gives me the Ballistic Buffy greeting at the door, complete with kisses. Sometimes DH waits for the fuss to settle down and then announces in a loud voice "Mommy's home!". Even though I'm standing right next to her, Buffy will again dash to the door, barking all the way.

Shame on DH for fooling that smart dog!
