[Dempsy's Mom]

Dempsy has decided that he doesn't like to take back seat anymore in the Gator now he sits in front with me. I think he loves the freedom. So instead of lifting him up in the back, I lift him up in the front seat, but today I decided that he could get in by himself.

Dempsy sat on the ground and looked up at me with his little head cocked. I was in the drivers seat and I told him, "If you want to come get in." He just soaked it up. I could see the anticipation and pride to try something new come over his face. "Mom believes in me." ... and then there was this determined look and a jump and the back legs were a scampering for more momentum to boost himself on the floorboard. Soon he was in, jumped up on the seat and away we went. He was just bustin' at the seams with pride.

I've seen the same expression with Buffy - SO happy and proud of her success that she practically glows. I bet he thinks he's King of the Farm now.

What a big boy he is and so proud of himself and so he should be. I am so glad he gives you so much pleasure. What a great companion he is on the farm - who said small dogs can't overcome most boundaries.

Absolutely! We all will have Gator rides - water balloons - bubbles - fetch - stock pond swimming and all go on long walks with great sniffing areas.

I have to confess ... I like Gator rides too We have friend who has one - they bring it to earthdog tests and it is super useful for ferrying judges, toting equipment and dens, and just generally being useful. Hooray for Gators!

Their Cairns love their Gator too - they like to follow along behind it in the pasture -- hunting, as it will frequently flush out field mice in its wake.
