Kirby Missed Me!

I just started a new job. We were in our regular 8 - 5 routine with Kirby - now a change. I am doing shift work, 12 hours, sometimes 9 - 9 and some 1 pm to 1 am's. I had to work yesterday. DH told me this morning that when he brought Kirby in last night, he went room to room looking for me. He finally just sat on the couch with Dad. At bedtime DH says, "Kirby, you ready for bed?" Normally he either gets on the ottoman or in his dog bed in our room. DH said he did like a sign kind of breath and went to lay in from to the door to wait for me. That's where he was when I got home! We did our belly rub and leg massage, and he pooped out on the floor while I did a little work on the computer (late night check of Cairn Forum) till I said "Ready for bed Kirby?" Off we went! It was so sweet to know he actually missed me and "waited up!" :)

awwww...that is so sweet. It must be hard on you as well. You know your little guy is used to a routine and having that disruption is unsettling for these little tykes. Layla is pretty much the same way - hubby fishes almost every morning (since I am now retired) and you would think that it has been two weeks since she has seen him when he gets home around noon. Whining and crying while he parks the truck and the tail wagging as he approaches the house. My goodness...such a raucous! They are firmly attached to their humans and any change sends them for a loop. But...not to worry, I think it's harder on us reacting to them - than them to the act. He will adjust in time - just is nice to know he misses you so much.

Oh how sweet! But doesn't it feel good knowing how much he cares for you? When my hubby travels Bailey & Radar do the same...I tell them time for bed and they are not really sure and will look around for daddy. It's so sweet.

Awww how sweet! I remember the first day I left Cracker to go to work...I could hear him whining and crying all the way to the Hummer. It was so hard to leave! My parents kept him at their house and when I walked in the door that evening, he started to shake and then pee all over the floor! I've never seen his tail wag so hard. It's great to be loved by these precious little guys/gals.

That is so sweet. I know it has to make you feel good. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone greeted you like that when you got home? Well maybe not the belly rub part. LOL I might would think they were crazy.

Kelly is like that with Eric and the Boys. I am always with her so I won't find out tll school starts back. I wonder if she will be that way with me?
