Cute pic! Happy 4th to you too! We had to get back from friends in time to comfort our oldest Cairn, Kiara. She's the tough one of the group, but turns into a total wimp w/ fireworks or thunderstorms.

Happy Belated 4th Ripley!! Dempsy is glad it's over. Usually he gets to go to a parade with us, but this year he was kennelled while we traveled to a wedding. He is very happy to be home and I am very happy to have him back....... Looks like Ripley was dressed for a parade. :)

We had a burn ban this year. So.....we didn't find out if Ripley was afraid, but I'm sure it unsettles most dogs

Our girls had their usual bemused evening. We didn't take them into the heart of the fireworks, watched from some distance away and they just sat and watched the display for awhile and then laid down and snoozed in amongst all the folks around us. I see a pattern, they get quite excited early on in the celebration--barking and guarding their digs from the noise but as it goes on for a few days, they pay less attention, grumble less, and eventually just ignore it.

As I mentioned, we had a couple of days of late evening thunderstorms that got them excited and since that noise comes with rain, it is really fun for them.

It was a nice holiday here but the weather is hot and dry. Even with the rain there is no humidity--tolerable with good air conditioning. Unfortunately the rivers are still really high and swift so there is no swimming yet.

What a cute outfit! I always kept my Westie dressed for holidays and everything you can imagine (he had a wardrobe almost half the size of mine). I am sure you all will see lots of pics of Cracker in outfits too. :D
