hheldorfer Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Most of you have heard some of my other "big sister" stories about Buffy since we adopted Ziggy a year and a half ago. Not to bore you with endless "cute dog antics", but she did it again today and I have to share: Last year we installed a fence around the back yard - a blessing, for sure. There are several gates, the largest being a double gate at the driveway. The single gates are easy to get through while preventing the dogs from escaping, but the double gate is a little trickier. Tonight we were taking the garbage to the curb and had to go through the double gate while both dogs were in the back yard. We told them to "stay" as we shimmied through the partially open gate. Buffy stayed; Ziggy made a move to dash through. Buffy immediately grabbed Ziggy by the snout - not as an attack, she just firmly held him by the jowls with her teeth until the gate was closed behind us, then let go. I think it was her way of saying "We don't do that kind of thing around here!" We were very, very proud of her.
Dempsy's Mom Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Buffy is a gem. Keep an eye on the Ziggy, Buffy! Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori

josie&holly Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Buffy is a very clever girl and takes her role very seriously! and I do not think we would come on the Forum unless we wanted to hear stories about our Cairns! www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk

Hawkeye Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Once again Buffy to the rescue. She's a great second set of eyes -- good girl, Buffy! I too love reading cairn stories.
pindrop Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Like Lynn says, we never get tired of hearing stories about our puppers. That is why we come in everyday - to hear their antics. Buffy is quite the big sister and a blessing to have the instinct to bring into line one who thinks they can get away with things. WTG Buffy. Husband and dog missing ...25 cents reward for dog

hheldorfer Posted June 22, 2011 Author Posted June 22, 2011 Keep boring us with Buffy's "cute dog antics"... She never ceases to amaze! Thanks for that! Buffy has not, however, learned to scale or jump baby gates the way Ruffy has.
