Dempsy checks cows

This morning Dempsy and I took the Gator out to check the calves. Dempsy loves the Gator - I take it pretty easy with him. Usually we are on the four wheeler and Demps is in between my arms. The little red calf is a newborn. A newborn should weigh at least 70# and their up and sucking usually within 15 - 30 minutes. This little guy is a healthly bull. I will come out later tag his ear with his mom's number and band him so he will be a steer.

Cool! Demp's is checking out the herd, notifying them of who is the boss, and getting a fun ride all at the same time. My girls are curious, a bit too curious about cows,--there has been some tentative nose touching thru fences all across America and I am just a bit afraid that untethered they would start a great stampede at the drop of a hat.

Demps may have the best life of any Cairn around! I am more smitten with him after this video than I already was--and I didn't think I could get any more smitten! You should hold a Cairn slumber party at your place, with Gator rides for all!

Dempsy is having lots of fun in the warm breeze checking the cows but I was impressed most by him sitting there and not attempting to leap off! What a good boy and what a handsome looking lad.

Dempsy thanks you all for your warm fuzzy thoughts. Yes I do think he is one spoiled and lucky pup, but he sometimes thinks I am mean when I am over protective and won't give him more freedom. They do like adventures.
