Lord of the fire hydrant

Took Fudgie for her evening walk and we came upon The Lord Of The Fire Hydrant! He snuck in on us today. He was not in the neighborhood this morning! Fudgie does not like him at all! But she wouldn't get too close either!

Odd looking chap - wonder what the story is behind this one. I'm sure Buffy would have reacted the same as Fudgie, although Ziggy would have given him a sprinkle without hesitation. His motto is "Either eat it or pee on it."

How bizarre! I wish I could bring my lab for a stroll by that. He would have no problem christening it with dog urine. That's just weird. Why did they do that?

I'm thinking he's trying to keep the neighborhood dogs from peeing on it...it is in "his yard". It is just going to cause the opposite! Gripey neighbors that do not want anything or anyone in their yard. I might start sneaking other accessories on it on our nightly walks after dark! Yes it is very strange!

A fire hydrant is never technically "in" someone's yard; people just seem to think that everything in front of their house is their yard.

Anyway, it's just plain stupid. What does anyone care whether or not a dog pees on a fire hydrant?

Well with all the tornado's you guys have been having, maybe it just blew in from somewhere. On the other hand, in these here parts placing that on a fire hydrant would be a city code violation. I'd just have Fudgie call the cops and get this taken care of.

You neighbor needs to get a grip! People are nuts. Kirby doesn't like anything out of place, he went Cairn-crazed because our "normal" neighbor planted two new trees in his yard. I swear he stood in the road for 5 minutes growling and barking at the trees. It took about 3 days for him to ignore them and move on! I don't think he'd ever get over that fellow!

Is that a Smurf, a wizard, or Santa, or what? It seems to be somehow incomplete. I believe the tableau would be improved by adding a leash connected to a pink flamingo. Or possibly not - Peggy tends to veto all my ideas for decorating in the front yard

I like the leash connected to a pink flamingo idea. Or maybe if you have (or can borrow one) a child's toy car (Barbie, Jeep, or even a Harley), he would look great sitting on that.

I'm pretty sure the local fire department won't appreciate the hydrant decoration/disguise. It shouldn't take long before the Smurf-wizard-santa is gone!
