The puppies made it easy

The puppies made it easy for me to choose. One of them acted scared the first 25 minutes we were there the rest of the time she just wanted to lay around. The one I chose was all over us, wagging its tail, licking us, playing. She played with us the whole time which was about an hour and a half. It is really funny because the one that laid around and kept her tail down the whole time we were there is the one the breeder said was the most active. I guess you can say the puppy chose us. We had the best time. We love her so much already. Did not want to leave her! We get to pick her up June 13 if nothing happens. 19 days to go. The picture does not do them justice, so much cuter in person.

Which one is she? Heck, it doesn't matter - they're both adorable pups. Good for you for making your choice. We'll all be counting down the days with you.

I wrote I'm the one on the picture beside the one I chose.

Gotcha thumbsup.gifThe one on the right hand side of the picture, she's gorgeous although they both are and their ears have popped up early!

I was the same when we went to pick a puppy, Scruffy chose me and each time I went to visit before we brought him home, he would follow me about, It was as though he knew. You will be counting the days down and it will seem like forever.

Have you got all the stuff you need? toys, crate etc? I kept going out and spend spend spend in the last week of waiting to fetch Scruff. It was like shopping for a baby original.gif

It's great how she made your decision so easy. As you said she picked you. Now you have to start working on names. Will you wait until you bring her home? 19 days is not that far now, you've had a long road but your day is fast approaching now.

Lynn that is really neat! Now you KNOW and that is really the best situation to have when it comes to hard decisions--my choice would always be the most assertive, the least reserved, the most people oriented dog in the batch. Just think about how hard the last month has been and it will make the next couple of weeks fly by and then we will have a new baby to ohh and ahh over!

Oh Lynn she's gorgeous :-) bet you're even more excited now but not long :-) any thoughts on a name now you've met her properley ? The one you said was quiet was exactly why I was worried about Nessie but she's totaly not like that anymore she's mad now :-)

Thank you everyone. I have already bought some supplies, crate, clippers, slicker brush. metal comb, tennis balls, 1 stuffed toy, 1 without stuffing. I think thats all I've bought so far.

We really had a good time with her. The more I look at the pictures the more I miss her. I have a short video of her too. She had started getting tired in it. I will post it if I can figure out how.

I think she is beautiful. I like the eyeliner look around her eyes, and she looked like she was smiling the whole time we were there. It's neat how things work out. I don't know if I would have been

able to choose if they had both acted the same way. The name is something that will be hard now. The kids are not agreeing with me on that, My 8 year old son likes Katie and Suzie. I like buttons, and

Daisy, which I thought was ironic when you all were talking about daisy's the other day because thats a name I had been thinking about from the start. Buttons came up when we were visiting because she liked the buttons on my Mother's shirt. We will probably wait until she is home for a few days with us before we make the name decision.

Now I just hope she still likes us when we go back to pick her up!

There you go! Decision made. Sounds like lots of fun getting ready for your little lifetime guest.

Oh Lynn isn't this wonderful - one decision made and not by you but the most important new member of your household. Now you just have to wait it out. As the days narrow down, the anticipation will grow. I was up at 4:30 am and had to wait till 8:30 before I could leave. Oldfox and I must have discarded 25 names before Layla popped out of nowhere and I was pooped on names - but just knew that was the one. You new little baby is adorable and before long, you'll be filling us in on all the new antics.

I vote for Daisy, but as I don't live there, you should pick a name that suits you and her! I think she is just a beauty, looks like she is ready to play! Very Cairnish!

I put video up on Youtube.com and then I can add it to here... you can try that. We would love to see the video!!! congrats on making your selection, she's adorable. Hope time goes fast till you get her.

Don't forget the harnass and leash! Pegi was a puller from day 1 (she was 12 weeks when we got her). Now when the harnass comes out she runs to the door for a walk. And most important - poop bags!

Very exciting, happy news! I like Daisy for a name, too! I hear you about trying to get kids to agree with a name. I thought we had a name for Divot but then Divot popped in my mind on the car ride home. Thankfully we all agreed immediately that THAT was the name we had been searching for. So you'll know the right name when you stumble on it, just like you knew the right pup when the time came!

I can't wait until you get her! It's going to be so fun to see pics and hear stories!

We had been their for almost an hour before I took this video, so she was starting to get tired. It is just a camera video and there is no sound but it is cute.

Oh Lynn! Now it that doesn't make you want to run out and find a puppy, nothing will! What a little beauty this dog is--I'll tell you what impressed me--that little tail going a mile a minute--it didn't stop the entire time the puppy was interacting and that tail is a dead giveaway to what is going on in that little mind--she was enjoying you humans as much as you were enjoying her and THAT is a window to her soul--just what you want in a Cairn.

That video was so good, I could almost smell those little Frito toes and warm puppy breath. I can see why you are so anxious--I would be climbing the wall!!

A note--rethink the natural tendency we have to playfully grab a puppy's nose to get a reaction--the more you do this, or let the kids do it, the more the pup will try to use his mouth to interact with you all--dogs naturally use the mouth to learn about their world and creating a situation where they play with that little mouth might work to your detriment when you want to teach the pup (as you most certainly will) the "No Bite!" rule. It will confuse her if you are using the snout grab to play as well as to discipline her.

It is just so natural to want to grab that cute little nose when we play with them but those little puppy teeth eventually get sharp.

With that said, I am going back and look at this video again because it pleases me to see this lively little puppy's tail going a mile a minute, to see it cuddle up and kiss that child's hand, to see it interact with it's new owners. I know I am not and can not be as excited as you are Lynn, but I am pretty darned excited!!!!

Thanks for the video.

That video is just so cute! That tiny tail wagging like mad! That puppy will be a real pleasure I am sure and I can understand you wishing the time away but it will son be here and then you will have no time to do anything but play/feed and train!

What a sweet little pup! Yep, the puppy definitely chose you guys, didn't she?

Lynn, she looks like the happiest Cairn puppy in all the world! Gosh, I want to cuddle that little sweetheart.

Lynn she is just a happy little beauty! I was impressed by how bright and interested her expression is, and she seems very affectionate! Now I want a puppy!

Cutest puppy video and I love how that tail never stopped wagging. It won't be much longer before you will have your little bundle all to yourself.

Oh Lynn - I'm so glad you sent me to see the video otherwise I would have never seen it. She is absolutely the most excitable and cutest pup. I think her tail might fall off with all that constant wagging (giggled here on how it never stopped) She certainly interacts with the humans around her and that just goes to show you how intelligent she actually is. Oh boy, I bet you just can't wait to get her home. I've been thinking about you and how anxious you must be getting. So close yet so far. Not to worry, before long the little bundle of joy will be home and driving you all mad. Any closer to a name yet? I'll like whichever one you choose. Hang in there kid - we're all waiting with you.
