It's hard to believe but our little Gypsy (nicknamed "Baby" in the early days) is 15!! Now we call her Grandma!

We tend to focus on our younger guy, Taz, on this forum -- because he has been so challenging and entertaining. We came to this forum because we needed support in dealing with his puppy-hood.

Little Miss Gypsy keeps on ticking. She is losing sight / hearing and definitely slowing down. But we know for sure that Taz has added some zest to Gypsy's golden days. He has been with us for a bit over 2 years now and Gypsy at the time was in a funk from having lost her older brother Bandit. So Taz rolled in (like a tornado) and brought some new energy to Gypsy. There are times she wants nothing to do with him, other times they play and inter-act.

Gypsy had her ACL surgery 5 years ago and recovered perfectly. She even survived "valley fever" when she was 5. This is a unique illness found only in the southwest desert and she was very sick (IV / overnight at the vet). We laugh that she has used up her lifetime medical allotment (not really).

Now our dear Gypsy spends most of her time in her "nursing home" -- a dog bed with a nice little fleece throw. We have several strategically placed in the house to ensure her comfort. :)

Happy Birthday Grandma - we love you! :cake:

No, she is really 105! In dog years of course.

Happy Birthday Gypsy. You've had quite a time, raising and training a family. Then having to show the ropes to the new puppy too. Enjoy your little cozy spots.

I love looking at those old wise Cairn faces and those deep eyes. Cairns really do age well, such tough little dogs. Happy Birthday to that grand old girl. Have many more Gypsy!!!

Happy 105th Birthday Gypsy! my bob the mellow 7 year old sends his love, he understands what it is like to live with a youngster like Taz. 6 months ago 12month old Penny the "crazy cairn" came into his life. Penny has indeed bought out his youthful side. I too love the picture, it is exactly how Penny sleeps, all stretched out!

Happy Birthday, Gypsy! Nuzzles from Buffy and Ziggy.

:cake: Happy 15th Birthday, dear Gypsy!! Murphy and Gracie send big hugs and slurpy kisses!

Happy Birthday to a sweet old gal who is taking on age with grace and beauty. Gypsy is really a good looking gal. Love to hear that you have lots of rest cushions around the house - very sweet. I hope, if I reach that age, I have someone who dotes on me and will set up lots of cushy peaceful resting areas.
