Malcolm's Dad
Malcolm had a really good Thanksgiving. For a Thanksgiving treat he got one of those giant beef knuckle bones. He chewed and chewed on that bone all afternoon and evening. He was one busy little dog. When I went to bed he brought the bone up on the bed with him. These dogs are strong, he managed to jump up on the bed with that heavy bone. That's ok, he had licked all the grease off of it. He had that bone pretty clean so it wasn't going to get the blanket dirty. It was kind of cute, like a little kid bringing their teddy bear to bed. Either that or he was guarding it. You never know, I might get up in the middle of the night and chew on his bone so he wasn't letting it out of his sight. Now there have been a few times when Malcolm likes to go to the top of the pillow, curl up and sleep on my head. He hasn't done it all summer, probably its too warm. Last night he gets up and brings the bone up on the pillow. He drops the bone on my head and was going to get comfortable. This is where I have to draw the line. I don't mind sharing the pillow. Its nice to have a warm doggie snuggling with you on a cool night. But not with a bone! Especially not a huge beef knuckle bone. I took the bone and put it on the foot of the bed. He follows the bone. I told him "you have to stay there". He was good, he stayed at the foot of the bed. I can put up with just about anything, but I'm drawing the line, I'm not sleeping with a bone. Dempsy's Mom
Aren't they just the sweetest. You are like me. Dempsy can just about do anything but there are lines. I can't believe that you wouldn't sleep with a dog and a bone on your head. Malcolm had such a good day that he thought ..... what the heck, why not try? Hairy_Putter
Sounds like you had a great Thanksgiving, Malcolm. I like to sleep on my dad's pillow. He just doesn't like it when I bring my favorite toy, Henrietta chicken, into bed at night. Invariably, he will roll over in the middle of the night onto Henrietta and it starts to squeak. Waking him up like that makes me smile. He, on the other hand, has no sense of humor. Hairy Putter www.HairysBlog.com
josie&holly
:D I would not share my bed with the dog...! Don't knock it until you've tried it! I have to get up several times in the night and would disturb Holly's sleep so that is why she does not join me on the bed! www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk

Sam I Am
I love that little face next to me on the pillow I must admit! And at times the bed looks like a Bison has died on our bed leaving its skeletal remains The bones are always picked clean at that point so for those of you that are retching at this point, not to worry, I would not allow a meaty bone up on our duvet! Murphy's Mom
:D I would not share my bed with the dog...! Don't knock it until you've tried it! I have to get up several times in the night and would disturb Holly's sleep so that is why she does not join me on the bed! They're smart aren't they? I move my legs too much during the night for Murphy's liking so she decided to sleep in her portable crate on my side of the bed for a peaceful nights sleep and then jumps on the bed in the morning and stays there until hubby and I get up. I do have one rule; no food on the bed. You'd laugh if you saw the way we wake up every morning. I lay on my side and she comes and lays on her side towards me and I pet and rub her until I'm ready to get out of bed. It's so cute, you should see the look on her face. It's euphoric for her and very relaxing for me. My husband says she hit the doggy jackpot. I think WE hit the doggy jackpot. North Georgia, USA Home to Miss Murphy-Cairn mix-born est.
