pindrop
Just got back from the breeders today. My goodness the puppies have grown - I remember when they were only 10 days old. We are still in a holding pattern - a little less than 2 weeks and we will have our baby. We are still undecided on the name but the one good thing that came out of today is - ta dah - we picked out our favorite. While we were at the breeders, she mentioned that another couple were coming up to see the counterpart of our choice. (We have chosen the lightest of the females and this couple was looking at the lightest of the males - so that worked out well.) Nice couple too - they have two children ages 12 & 6 and the wife had no idea that her husband was bringing her to see any puppies. Seems she grew up with a cairn and told her husband that if ever they get a dog it will have to be a cairn. Seems he found our breeder - called her and made arrangements to come up today and never said a word to his wife - just told her they were going for a drive. She is thrilled and they made arrangements to pick up the puppy in two weeks. Needless to say I told her of this forum and hopefully she will be joining up. So...here are the latest pictures of our baby. Hope you all enjoy. Husband and dog missing ...25 cents reward for dog

Lorie & Ellie : )
She's beautiful! I can remember the anticipation and excitement I felt the weeks before going to pick up Ellie. kjwarnold
They are so cute at that age, all fluffy and ears still floppy. And they're cute just after they're stripped for the first time, and they're cute for their second birthday, and the 5th, 10th, 15th... They're just always cute! Have fun in your anticipation. Malcolm's Dad
Oh she is so adorable. So there are 2 lucky puppies that will have wonderful homes. 2 weeks to wait? Thats plenty of time to go buy more stuff at the pet store. A young puppy can't have enough toys you know.

pindrop
Good thing hubby is computer literate - he helped (did I say help?) - he actually resized the latest picture so I could use it as an avatar. What a man! Insofar as your questions - it is really difficult to come up with a name - like Hawkeye once said - we'll know it when it strikes our fancy. We are still throwing around Kanew - Melba (new one that came up yesterday - hubby said when she's bad he will make her toast!) and literally dozens of others. And yes..the next two weeks will feel like an eternity. The puppies have been dewormed (three times I think she said) and they will be getting their first shots on the 18th - we are picking her up on the 19th (early morning) and I am taking that day and all the following week (week of Thanksgiving) off. As hubby is retired - (and hopefully not hunting for deer) - together we will be spending all our time with the puppy. Oh my...how we love to rush things when we are looking down the road and only too quickly does that time fly when we are looking back. josie&holly
Oh, I like the name Melba - and your husband's comment!! I was thinking about dogs names the other day and then I just thought that as she was an Autumn baby that RaspBerry or something similar like Conker was a good name. I am sure though that you will come up with something that with suit that little girl! www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk
Hawkeye
Once you pick a name, the next thing will be all the nicknames you come up with. Radar's nickname that has caught is "Dar" usually when he's doing something stupid Melba is a cute name.

Zekey's Mom
she looks like a little stuffed toy That's just was I was thinking. I just want to pick her up an hug her and not let go! I like the name Melba, but it needs work, like "Melba T." You must just end up calling her Melly.
