It's really nice to be back on this site again... I was living with the sadness of the loss of my beloved Carrington and after some empty weeks had passed, I knew I wanted and needed to have the enjoyment of a lively, energetic young cairn in my life again... the way Carrington had been before age and illness slowed him down.

I searched some cairn rescue sites and I'm so happy to let you know that I came upon Ruffles, a wonderful 3 -4 year old male who has brought back all the fun and happiness I was hoping for. He's been with me now for only 8 days and I could fill this page with all the good attributes he possesses. (Of course, we're still in the "cairn honeymoon" period and I'm expecting the "real" Ruffles to emerge in a little while!).

I never had a cairn this young, so I know I'll have many questions to post and I look forward to participating actively in this forum, as I did before. I'll be sharing a lot more info about Ruffles very soon, but I can't take the time for that now because whenever I sit at the computer, Ruffles tries to get my attention & engage me in a game of "chase" or "fetch" or "let's just run around all over the place and be as silly as possible!" So for the time being, here are some pix...

More details to come later...

I am sorry to say that I was unaware of your loss and I really don't know why that is the case but please let me send along my regrets that I wasn't there to help you thru your loss. That is tough duty to say the least.

Your Ruffles is a beautiful, guess I should say "handsome" dog, I really like his looks a bunch and how wonderful that he is a rescue. It does my heart so much good to know that a Cairn has been placed with someone that loves and understands the breed. The pictures are simply great. Please keep us informed on his progress so that others can learn how these rescue Cairns can be such a wonderful alternative to taking on a puppy.

Wonderful!

What a happy looking dog!

Hi Sanford. So sorry about Carrington. I know that you loved him dearly.

I am very happy that you have introduced Ruffles to us. He is just a wonderful dog! Love the name too! Looking forward to reading lots of stories about you two getting to know each other. :) Wishing you both the best.

Sanford, I'm very sorry to hear about Carrington. I too, did not know of his passing.

Ruffles seems like a very happy, spry little guy. I know you will enjoy each others company for many years to come.

Congratulations to both you and Ruffles! It looks like he is trying to teach you what what my Loki has taught me - there is never a bad time for play.

Who rescued whom?

Congratulations! How wonderful that you found another Cairn and that he's such a handsome, lively boy! He looks like a devilish little ball of energy and I'll bet the two of you are very happy together!

Good looking boy. He reiminds me of our dear departed Ozzy. A special thank you to you & all those who rescue dogs. I am sure he has a great life ahead of him.

Sanford, I'm so happy that you and Ruffles have found each other! There's no better salve for the soul than a happy bundle of fur who wants nothing more than your attention. Enjoy!!!

Ditto & multi-ditto to everything that's been said. Ruffles is adorable and it's great that you have a canine Cairnpanion again.

Have tons of fun with him!

Congrats on the new addition to your family and to your heart!

What a cutie! Full of love and energy! Bless you both!

I am smiling here - so happy to hear that your new puppy is putting a smile back on your face and a warm feeling in your heart. He is very handsome and probably going to be a handful judging from the expression on his face. I wish you many many happy years with your new baby. Looking forward to hearing his exploits with anticipation.

"CAIRNGRATULATIONS!!" to both of you. You have a wonderful future together, as Ruffles teaches you all about the younger Cairn. Are you in shape for all the running & playing that awaits? You guys will really enjoy each other, and we will enjoy hearing all about it. Have fun!!!
