Posted September 27, 201014 yr We just returned from another wonderful week in Acadia NP in Maine. This was Hogan's 4th time there, I suspect he wishes we would leave him there! My husband swears he would NEVER stop on his own accord, but we DID wear him out the day we hiked up one side of Cadillac, then down another side. When we got back to the car he laid down and closed his eyes. He was done. He was ready for more the next day, though! More than one person we meet on the trails is surprised such a little dog can hike so far. He can, and he clearly loves every second, and whines if we dare stop for a break!
September 27, 201014 yr Great pictures! Our boys love to hike, too, and you can hardly get them to stop. They sure sleep good at night after all that hiking, don't they? Jandy and my Cairns, Kirby & Phinney
September 27, 201014 yr Angel does that whine when we stop hiking too. lol He looks like he had a blast. cute photos. Dogs' lives are too short. Their only fault, really." - Carlotta Monterey O'Neill
September 28, 201014 yr Hogan looks very pleased with himself, great photo's! www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk
September 28, 201014 yr Maxwell runs trails, even with the pack. His longest was 7mi. and he was tugging just as fiercely on the way out as he was on the way in.
September 29, 201014 yr Yes, they are sturdy little dogs. Their little bodies are so great. Hogan looks fantastic. Dempsy to just love, love, loves his outdoor walks and adventures too. If he stays in the house all day - he gets so bummed - so that rarely happens. And when he runs upstairs to hide under the bed, because he thinks I am leaving and I will put him in his hut - I just stand at the bottom of the steps and say "outside?" and he crawls out and down he comes. I haven't fooled him yet, his little heart is so set on going outside that I can't disappoint him. Great, they are just great. Thanks for the pics! Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
September 30, 201014 yr Liz, Where do you stay in Acadia with Hogan? We've been thinking of a trip up there in the near future and would like to find dog friendly accommodations. Love the pics!
September 30, 201014 yr Author Here's where we stay: http://www.hutchinscottages.com/ Very simple and basic, but nearly everybody there has a dog, and there's a huge open field in front. ~Liz
