Oh, yeah. Our boys have always loved a good ear of sweet corn, but I have to watch so they don't eat the cob. Now they're mostly limited to a few kernals to satisfy that summertime craving.

I gave Holly some sweetcorn kernals las year and when she next pooped there they were - complete! :o :o

so will not give them her again!!

A bit of topic however, on the topic of pooping out things as they went in, I have a funny story to ad to this. A gal at work has a Bouvier. He clocks in at around 120 pounds, so taking things off the kitchen counter is no problem. He got a hold of a whole bag of Werther's neatly wrapped in their shiny foil. The next day as he went out to do potty, his owner much to her surprise saw dozens of Werther's appear in his poops, perfectly wrapped still! So corn seems kind of tame I am thinking :P Oh, he also had no problems... thank goodness!

laugh.gif at Terrier lovers story! That made me laugh. I've not tried Scruffy on sweet corn but he loves raw carrot and apple.

Omg!!! That is sooo adorable! Dempsy looks so happy!

Terrier lover, that's a hilarious story! I wonder if your coworker can ever look at Werther's the same again?

He thought it was a nice treat for the labor day weekend. No, I didn't let him go crazy - however you can't tell that by the pictures. I just wanted to share with you what fun he was having enjoying his weekend. :P

Dempsy's Mom, I got in trouble for giving Currey a cob to chew on while we were freezing corn for the winter on Saturday (24 cups frozen within 4 hours of it being picked, yippee for farm fresh sweet corn all winter!) Anyway, DH thought it was a bad idea to let him have it with the mess he made chewing on it but the floors needed to be scrubbed anyway, so what's the harm, right?

About two hours later it all came back out the way it went in...a neat looking pile of what could have been mistaken for creamed corn...

Guess who got to clean that mess??? oh yeah, it was me! It was worth it for how much he enjoyed chewing on it!

I had troubles getting a good photo; every time I got close he took off with it. I gave up when he ran to the carpet!

Love that story Terrierlover!

We now understand that certain foods are not digestible by our little dogs! never mind the big ones!

:) Yeah. Sometimes you have to weigh out the harm vs. the fun. And they certainly have fun with their sweetcorn chew. That's why Demps is on the grass - made it more fun for me, I didn't have to clean up. Yes, it was worth it.

Oh my gosh, what great pics of Dempsey, especially the last one!! Zekey has not had corn yet, but I'll have to boil up a few ears and see how he reacts. I predict he barks and growls at it, to begin with.

Terrier Lover, what can I say? I USED to love butterscotch, but now? Hmmm. Must re-evaluate. That story was over the top hilarious!!!

Best part of Summer ~ Corn on the Cob. Love the pictures of Dempsy and had to laugh at Terrier Lover's story. I tried giving Bailey some corn on the cob and never again, he would have eaten the cob and all. He's such a piggy.

I LOVE these pictures! So very fun! I've never given Tanner corn on the cob, but I gave him an apple to play with once (very closely supervised). He just thought it was a ball & batted it around for awhile...never even tried to eat it.

Becky & Tanner

I love the last picture of Dempsy!! It looks like he's having an evil laugh moment :D "MMMAAAWWWWAAAAHHHHHH she gave me corn!" So cute.

Oooh Corn, what an interesting idea. Chaka is still just a pup, but do we boil the corn first to make it easier to digest or is it raw corn?
