mrseggcup
WOOF! Eli, here. Oh, boy, do I ROCK!!! You will never believe this but I got me a POSSUM! He was in MY territory (how dare he!) under the porch. He didn't know how tough I am. I got him and murdelized him. My mistake was leaving him where the Alpha B could see him. She got my prize out with a big stick and threw him on the fire! Just when he was starting to get all fragrant and stuff. No funeral, no burial, right on the fire. Oh, well, whaddya gonna do? At least I got him! WOOF! Eli
Hairy_Putter
My experience was quite different and much to the dismay of my dad. There was a possum in our yard and I thought he was dead. I walked over to the body and kept punching him with my nose to see if he was dead or maybe asleep. When my dad (who is an upright) came out back he called to me and made me come over to see him. While I wasn't watching that dead possum got up and walked away!!!! Hairy Putter www.HairysBlog.com
kjwarnold
Eli, dude! You are one righteous Cairn Terrier and apparently a heck of a hunter. We hope you rolled in that possum, both immediately upon death and then as it got stinky. Jandy and my Cairns, Kirby & Phinney
bradl
Nice job on the possum posse, pardner I'm afraid our pack of feral Cairns only managed to lead us to a seething cauldron of Mason bees today. Had to inform them that bees are not airborne snacks. CAIRNTALK: Questions? jimnconnie
Bailey & Sophie cornered a small possum in the back yard last summer, but they didn't "murdelize" him. They just barked their fool heads off until I came out to see what all the commotion was about. I managed to scoop them both up and bring them inside, allowing the scaredy-possum to flee the scene. They were both upset with me for spoiling their fun, but I didn't want it on their record that they were a pack of cold blooded "murdelizers" Jim Jim, Connie, Bailey & Sophie
shergry
WOW or should we say....WOOOOOF!! You go ELI...woof, woof, woof! Wish we could have helped you roll in the "spoils." Our upright would not have been so nice as yours....our would have thrown it in a dang old trash can for the "Trash Thieves." You know we never understood those trash thieves....taking all that good rolling, smelly, ripe stinky stuff! Hope you had a GREAT time "murderlizing" that dang old possum. hheldorfer
Eli, you are my hero, dude! I had a skunk in my sights the other day but my uprights wouldn't let me near him. Hmph! My mom is always saying stuff like "No! Don't hurt the woodland creatures!" Yeah . . . she definitely saw "Bambi" one too many times. Those creatures are vicious and evil and it is OUR responsibility as Cairns to protect our territory! Buffy the (wannabe) Squirrel Slayer
tlwtheq
Hmph! We never get to see possums in our back yard! Unfair! Although our Mommy is scared about rabies so we have to accept the cruel hand fate has dealt us. At least we get to eat squirrel, birdie and bunny poop. (One of these days we're going catch that bunny when he's actually in the yard then that will be it for him!) Good job Eli. DawnandTuk-tuk
"murdelized him"...LMAO!!! Tuk has cornered a parrot in the backyard, and since it was someone's pet I was ever thankful he did not murdelize it. However he has eaten his fair share of dead wild birds. mrseggcup
WOOF! Eli, here. When she threw it on the fire I thought the Alpha B was gonna roast it and serve it to me. But NO-OOO! She burned it all up. Little does she know, not only did I murtelize that stupid possum, I rolled in it and then slept on the her bed. And she has a white down comforter! HAHAHAHA! Woof! You are the KING, Eli! My Alpha B always catches me before I can spread the scent. Because you're so good at this, let me ask you a question: Can I learn to climb trees? Those dastardly squirrels always head for the trees when I chase them and I just KNOW I could snag one if I could climb. I've tried a few times but just can't seem to get very far. Angieh
Eli, you are awesome. All we killed today was a fly and our mom wouldn't even let us eat it. Benny and Kimmy
Zekey's Mom
Oh Eli, roast possum? Don't you know, they're much tastier deep-fried! I used to get possums on my porch at my old house all the time -- they'd come up to munch on the dry cat food (pre-Zekey days). And one even made himself right at home... Nena
Wow that possum in your basket is something to see. A racoon once made a home of a dog house that we did not use anymore. Had to block it off so he would stop, that was when Nena was a baby. cairn terriers leave pawprints on our lives
