DawnandTuk-tuk
So the new kitties, Batman (black and white) and Robyn (tortie), came home on Christmas! It took them a little time to adjust, but not too much. Tuk didn't know quite what to make of them at first but they are all getting along great now. During the first week Batman walked past Tuk pausing long enough to swipe at him a couple times. Tuk was sitting at my feet, look up at me like "What'd he do that for?" It was pretty funny. Batman totally wants to play with Tuk and Tuk wants to play back but they haven't worked out how to play together. It's funny to watch them try though. Robyn is very skittish so she is doing great just being in the same space as Tuk and not being at all afraid of him. That is all owed to Tuk being really awesome about not running up on her and such. He has run up to them together in an effort to get them to play but when they scattered and I told him not to do that he stopped and hasn't repeated the behavior. It's not chasing which I was happy about but it did scare them. They were involved in some type of house explosion and are all that's left of their family so loud noises, sudden movements, things of that nature used to really freak them out. I'm happy to say they are pretty much over that. Robyn was the most afraid and she still becomes frightened when something new happens (like visitors), but we are working with her all the time and she is getting better. Anyway, I thought I'd share a couple of pics of the babies, 5 months old. A little side, Tuk-tuk has this fear of the camera. Well since I snapped some pics of the babies he seemed to get a little jealous and actually came over and seemed to ask for his picture to be taken too (see attached)! lol
shergry
Very nice!! Lovely looking babies...and of course Tuk-Tuk is adorable too!! He has a great expression..seems to just talk to you through his expression. I feel like, "Hey, what about ME?" Great that he has entertainment around, other than us humans. And that Batman has a great mischief look!! Robyn will surely see that Batman is having too much fun and join in...time will tell. ;-)
Zekey's Mom
What wonderful faces all three of them have! Congratulations on your expanding fur family. Can't wait to hear more about them.
tlwtheq
Congrats on the new babies. They look wonderful. Did you get them from a rescue organization? As far as playing, if Tuk-Tuk is still young enough I predict there will be some inter-species play in the future. Thanks for the pics. kf6ybl
We have 2 Cairns (Mulligan & Sullivan) and 2 cats. They all seem to get along ok, even when the Cairns want to play with the cats. So far (3 years) the cats seem to put up with it ok and no one has gotten hurt. Good luck with you new additions!
DawnandTuk-tuk
I did get them from a rescue who was having a hard time as they wanted them to be adopted together but not alot of people want to take of a pair of babies. I had my reservations about that at first too, but just look at those faces! How do you resist? I've found our biggest challenge is that I don't have 3 hands to pet everyone with at the same time! They all get in (or try to) my lap and vie for a hand to get some petting. It's been pretty funny cause as soon as one moves another will step in to get some luvs from the free hand. It's really cute. This morning Batman actually rubbed up against Tuk (a first)! Tuky didn't know what to make of that, he always seems to just kinda freeze like "what do I do?". Then Batman came and rubbed back the other way. And I guess he felt Tuk wasn't responding enough cause he really leaned into him like, "hey, I really like you" but he rubbed too hard while Tuk was sitting on tile and he slid over! Lol! So Tuk had to get back up and Batman's looking at him like "why're you on the floor?" and then they're both looking at me cause I'm cracking up! I swear I have never seen anything funnier than these two try and figure out how to interact with each other! They clearly like each other and want to play and even now trying to show affection but it's just so, so...awkward!

Zekey's Mom
My cats lick each other's foreheads, as a sign of affection and heirarchy. I'm just waiting for one of them to do that to Zekey. Dawn -- more pictures please!
