I think I'm picking my new pup up this week, and she's already had her puppy coat stripped. She's gonna be freezing on our walks! Anybody here have good experience with an online site that sells sweaters and coats? I haven't searched yet, but I want to find a place where figuring out the sizing won't be a hassle.

My experience with buying coats/sweaters for cairns is limited. I only have one cairn. That said, the fact remains that I would be too embarrassed to admit how many coats & sweaters I've bought for my pampered, over-indulged pooch! So perhaps my coat-buying track record qualifies me to give advice after all. Here it is: The only sure-fire way of getting the right fit is to go to a store & try the coat on the dog. For example, I've found coats that fit the body, but sometimes the legs are cut too long for cairns, (who seem to be closer to the ground than doggie coat-makers are aware of). Using sizing charts online can be more of an art than a science, especially with sweaters. Having to mail back mechandise is time-consuming and incurs costs. I hope this info helps and that you find something soon...This is some serious cold weather we're having!

My little guy is wearing to corduroy on the outside and fleece on the inside jacket right now from "Urban Hund" size medium. He wears it no problem. Just google the name and you will find a on line store.

You may have to get your new little cutie a size small since she is a pup. enjoy.

Harness coats for warmth here

Murphy has two warmth coats and one raincoat from this on-line vendor. Love them!

I haven't bought sweaters or coats from them, but I like dealing with Revival Animal Health and Petedge.com (you can google Revival for their website...I can't remember it off the top of my head).

Zach hates coats, but I have quite a few for my Min Pin. I find I'm typically happiest with my purchases when she goes to the store or vendor at the show with me to try them on. I have to admit she has some pretty cute pink fleece pajamas and hoodies I've gotten from dog shows :)

Had read in the newspaper yesterday that in very cold weather, get a sweater/coat that covers the dog's abdomen as this is a very vulnerable part of their body. Most of the one's I've seen have the strap across the middle and don't offer much warmth underneath. Can't imagine trying to get Ruby into a sweater every time we go out!
