Cairns and Santa

Zekey's Mom

Recommended Posts

My local mall has two hours this weekend where you can bring in your pets and have their photo taken with Santa.

Has anybody done this with their Cairn? What was the experience like? Since I don't have children (of the non-furry kind), I've never done this before. I'm afraid he might go nutso and try to take Santa's beard off!

P.S. I think I should be allowed to take Zekey to the mall all the time!

Hi! Yes I did this last weekend with Molly. I wish I could figure out how to put her photo here. It went quite well. Santa :santa2: even complimented her on how sweet and well behaved she was (of course I was beaming!) She just sat on his lap, as calm as could be. She can be a real wild girl with her energy level, but when someone is holding and petting her, she becomes an instant lap dog! :)

I know how to shrink them for my avatar, but when I tried that it was TOO little to really see her or Santa. LOL I meant how people put other photos *in* their posts. I guess I should go to the help/forum section and see how to do it properly instead of just trying to guess how to do it. I'd like everyone to see it too! :)

I've really wanted to take Maxwell to see Santa. I missed it at our local pet store, and I remember that they did it one night at the mall last year but I'm so frightened that it would go badly! Maxwell IS NOT a lap dog. The only time he gets picked up is when he is naughty in class, because it is punishment! Picking him up means that he can't go play or bark or be over excited about anything. And he is never calm. Ever. Especially when new people - and long lines - are involved. So I just don't know... we may have to give it a few years before he meets Santa.

Here she is. Molly is 21 months old now. Hubby is not especially pleased with the photo. He thinks the background is "low budget" and wished we went to the other store we took our Mandy to years ago. Oh well, I still think she looks like a cutiepie. :)

I'm with you guys. I'd love to take Gus in to sit with Santa! He is VERY sociable and loves new people but he's still so "squirrly" at 10 months that I just didn't feel up to trying it. I did buy him some red thermal long-johns that are TOO cute! Soon as I can get him to hold still for a pic, I'll post one.

Happy Holidays All!

Thanks everyone for the nice compliments! :)

Nena - it took me, my husband and the photographer's helper jumping up and down and acting like monkeys to get her to look straight at the camera. ;)

Rita - red long johns! Hee! I'd love to see those.

The picture is very cute! And probably worth the money just to see the 3 ring circus to get her to look at Santa, lol! I would have the exact same problem, I can't imagine Tuk sitting still long enough for anyone, no matter the antics, to get him to look at the camera. I might try next year, the dog bakery at a local outdoor mall does them for $20 and half the money goes to a local shelter. That way even if they didn't come out, I'd feel better knowing my money was doing something worth while. This year my dollars are so tight I just couldn't swing it, I was bummed.

Well, Zekey deserves something extra in his stocking -- after waiting a half hour in line with lots of other (big) dogs, he posed very nicely... I thought more of his jacket would show, so I think next year I'll just put a pretty collar on him.

Can't WAIT to see Gus in his long-johns!

Very sweet picture of Molly.
