Kathryn
I was just catching up on various postings, including those on Teddy's emerging "cairn-ness" and the stories of our dogs doing in various items in the house, and I realized how much I love this forum and these postings. And all of the "cairn people" who are so attached to the terrier qualities in our dogs that make them adventurous, funny, and often much less obedient than a border collie. Here's to Cairn Talk and our dogs' out-of-bounds enthusiasm for life. May we simply share it.

pkcrossley
i love that phrase, "out-of-bounds enthusiasm." that catches it exactly.
avlsarah
"Out of bounds enthusiasm for life" really does catch it, it's perfect! I'll have to start using that as an explanation now! One of my good friends at the dog park recently asked if all cairn terriers were as enthusiastic, curious and fearless as Maxwell and I said that, to my knowledge, many of them have the same qualities. So he says "So you knew what you were getting into?.... Let me rephrase that, you meant to get into it?"
Puddlesmama
So right! When Puddles came to me, People would tell me that I didnt know what I got myself into. Even her puppy trainer said that she will be an impossible task. I did research for years on the Cairn breed off and on. I am a big Toto fan and when I was younger, My mom was showing goldens and a friend of hers had Cairns. I remember being 8 years old looking into a room with 8 Cairns and begging to pleasse go in and huddle with them. I didnt want to leave, I wanted to stay with them forever. I knew exactly what I was getting into. Even though people still think my girls are crazy characters. They now see why I did it. They keep me on my toes, I thrive on that. I thrive on competeing with myself, I thrive on being happy and jovial, I thrive on depending on my girls to take all the bad away at the end of the day. They are the perfect breed for me. This forum has made it possible to meet many more people like myself. I LOVE MY CAIRNS PUDDLES AND IRIS!
