Jessica H
I am not sure if someone already posted this. I was so used to the "New Posts" button and I haven't been on in so long that I am not very familiar with the new outlay. Anyway, Cairn Terriers are going to be on Dogs101 next Saturday 24th at 9:00pm. Jess, Scooter, Sadie and Dozer

SparkyJonesMom
I'm sure they will play it again. They've been playing the old Dogs 101 for almost a year! I'm going to set my DVR for the Cairn episode! Sparky Jones & Scout Jones
bradl
Great! I've been wondering when they'd get around to Cairns (and what they'll say). Hagar
Thanks for the tip on Dogs 101. My DVR is already set so I won't miss it.
Angieh
Thanks for the heads up. I wonder if they will give an accurate portrayal of the Cairn...
Nena
Thanks I also will set my DVR can't wait to see it. I also am interested in how they pronounce the name cairn. I have heard different ways not sure the correct way. Maybe it depends on where you are from. I thought it sounds like (karen) which is cool because it is my name. But other say different (caren) cairn terriers leave pawprints on our lives
Sandi16
Oooh thanks!! They ran a few new episodes this weekend and I checked for cairns, but didn't see them. I love dogs 101 and cats 101. It's a great show!
BeeBladen
You can see it already on animalplanet.com! You have to watch two ads, but they do a good job with the Cairn! Here is the link http://animal.discovery.com/videos/dogs-101-season-two/ Of course I'm going to watch it again anyway tomorrow! You can watch the other breeds too. Sucks about the ads, but you are going to have commercials on tv too. I personally prefer a bigger screen so I'll be re-watching saturday!
Angieh
Oh! I loved the clip you linked. Watching all the little Cairn puppies almost makes me want another one. Almost. Animal Planet did a great job.
carolinaila09
i loved the show tonight. i had seen the one on westies 20 times probably, and was waiting for a show on cairns! they almost described paisley to a T...aka "they won't let you forget they're there" haha!! i thought they said a little too much about the guy training other dogs though, i just wanted to hear about the cairns!! i love bernese mtn dogs too..my friend has one. so i was excited to see a little about them! **Ila and Paisley**
Angieh
Tonight was the best Dogs101 yet! They described the Cairn perfectly, although I think the whole hour could have been devoted to Cairns.
BetsyNoodle
I was a little disappointed in the show as I thought they focused too much on the trainer and his other dogs. But, there were some good shots of the puppies! Of course, I would have been happiest if they had devoted the entire hour to Cairns.
Nena
I agree I loved the show but wished they had not shown the trainer so much. I read about him in the newpapers some time ago. He does great work with rescues, good for him!!! I also thought they did not deal enough with care of the coat, but still glad to finally see a show on these great dogs. cairn terriers leave pawprints on our lives
avlsarah
I've seen reruns of this show several times, but don't watch TV enough to see it too frequently. Sadly I wasn't able to watch last night because we were having a dog park halloween party. Too fun. Such a great group of people. The times that I've seen the show, I've always wondered what they would say about our cairns. They always have the neatest stories and dogs (bed bug hunting Beagles and life guard Newfies). I was curious what they would say about grooming for cairns. Some say it is easy, and some say it is more involved. I'd say I definitely spend less money than on my last dog but more time! Sandi16
I was a little disappointed too. First, they only showed dark cairns, no reds or wheatens and they did focus a lot on the trainer and the Wizard of Oz aspect. I will say though the descriptions were PERFECT!! We were laughing. I love the let you know they're there part, like right now Louie is moaning at me because he wants sunflower seeds. Also, I loved the little grins and wry expressions the experts had on while describing them. You could tell they were charmed by a cairn or two. Murphy's Mom
Tonight was the best Dogs101 yet! They described the Cairn perfectly, although I think the whole hour could have been devoted to Cairns. Yes and when they said "they could care less who is on the other end of the leash" my husband and I just cracked up. So true. North Georgia, USA Home to Miss Murphy-Cairn mix-born est. eastofeden
If I remember correctly Joey Villani (one of the commentaters, he owns and runs a well known grooming school) has Cairns. Can anyone explains what the comment about being "left pawed" means? That is a new one to me. Raise your expectations for what your Cairn can do....and try very hard to meet your Cairn's expectations of you.
bradl
The left paw thing is new to me. Curious. Finally had a chance to watch it on the DVR. I was prepared to be bitterly disappointed with the show, but it wasn't terrible. I teared up a bit the minute I saw that silvery muzzle on Ashley (sp?). The seniors just get to me I guess my only real complaint is the inevitable focus on vermin, which they always imply means "rats." A lot of the personality of Cairns makes more sense when you think of their job not so much ratting (which all dogs will do) but annoying otters to the point that they would rather bolt from safety than endure another minute of Cairn harrassment. Sandi16
If I remember correctly Joey Villani (one of the commentaters, he owns and runs a well known grooming school) has Cairns. I was curious and he has three!! This is what I found on the "Groomer has it" the show about dog grooming When not working, Joey spends time with his wife, Elaine; and his three cairn terriers, Myles, Buster and Simon; and his 29-year-old umbrella cockatoo named Gurney
kittdog
I thought it was okay but wish they had shown some earthdog stuff and more different colored adults and not so much of the trainer guy. The senior cairn was touching. I've never heard of the left paw thing before - usually when mine are on the table during conformation shows or even on the ground they lift there right paw up, not their left. Idaho Cairns
Or this! Nice to have the reference to the "left paw" thing. I have always been curious why my dogs are inclined to use the left leg first.
