Does a Mars Coat King Get Dull?

I've been using a Mars Coat King on Packy for several years with great results. The problem lately is that it doesn't seem to go through his coat and pull anything out anymore. I can use it on Kirby and still get dead coat out, but not on Packy. He has very thick undercoat and I've thinned it some, but that hasn't seemed to help the MCK work any better. Could the blade be dull?

I've been using the Mars for years but found that after a while it wasn't pulling anything off Remy's coat so I ordered a replacement blade. Funny thing was even with the new blade, it still wasn't grabbing at anything. I re-adjusted the angle of the blade and it still just slid over his coat.

Did I help you at all

I'm confused too

I use the Mars stipper also and I was having the same problem with a brand new one! Then I found out its all how you hold the brush and the angle its at. I know it isnt as good as hand stripping but the old fingers just dont work that well anymore so I am glad of it!
