josie&holly
Holly does not walk up or down stairs - I carry her. Holly does not jump on furniture including the sofa. I pick her up if she wants to sit next to me [on striped fleece]. So, Holly is asleep on floor in lounge, I go upstairs for something. What do I find when I get back down? www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk
tlwtheq
I often think Cairns are very close in nature to some of their feline cousins! Max and Nelly
rtherapy60
She has that look on her face like "Uh oh..I've been caught, now I'll have to do it on my own all the time" And by the way, what kind of training treats do YOU get? LOL I have to agree with the feline connection. I tell my DH all the time, I think Jezzy is a cat in a Cairn body If you want the best seat in the house, move the dog. TazTalk
Looks like Holly has decided to become more independent! My favorite is when they sit on the top of the back of the couch -- then they really do resemble cats!
Brody
Ha Ha!! Looks like you're trained!!

Cairnmania
Holly definitely has you wrapped around her little paws! My dogs, especially Abby, will not go through the dog flap if their human servant (me) is nearby - they will wait until I open the door for them. What's the point of having help if you don't keep them busy?

josie&holly
Bailey in that picture definitely thinks he is a cat..........................and how lovely - he is keeping her shoulder warm nicely! I often think Holly has cat like tendancies................ she does like her comfort. And yes, she has trained me well - she even decides which direction we will walk in! www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk
Chez
Yes it's suprising what they can do when the servants aren't around isn't it. I have one exactly the same.
Murphy's Mom
jimnconnie: Please, what color is Bailey considered. He is the same color as my Murphy. Being new to Cairns I'd like to know his official color name. Thank you. North Georgia, USA Home to Miss Murphy-Cairn mix-born est. His chest & legs are lighter colored, but you can see lots of the red in his top coat. Jim Jim, Connie, Bailey & Sophie
Idaho Cairns
Great picture Connie--these Cairns seem to like to get the upper hand, even if it is playing "King of the Mountain" on the Mistress's head!

It is definitely blonde of some sort. Is the wheaten color a blonde? Sorry for all of the dumb questions but I'm new to the breed and don't know who else to ask. I may have answered my own question....I just went to this site http://www.lachleen.dk/uk/Farver.htm and they show colors. Murphy is more Red than Wheaten for sure. I'll post an avatar and picture after her first grooming.....very soon.....still healing from spay surgery So glad I found this messageboard. Sis2
My Choobe is a Wheaten according to her papers but she has a lot of red in her. She looks a lot like Bailey. She doesn't like to snuggle though even in the winter. She wants to be close either underfoot or by you but not snuggle.
