Autumn & Lola
I just had to share this. Molly sleeps in a crate. She has never minded, never cried and never fights to go in at night. When she wakes up, she very calmly sits there until I let her out. Last night she started whining shortly after I put her in. I thought it was odd, but tried to get to sleep, but she wouldn't stop. I went to her crate to make sure her two bedtime toys (pink pillow and purple puppy) were in there with her and they were. She quieted down and I went back to bed. At 3 am she was crying again. I woke up and thought perhaps she needed to go out (which she never does in the middle of the night). I put her out and.........nothing. So I looked in the crate to make sure a mouse or something wasn't in there. I put her back in the crate. At 7 a.m. I woke up and she was whining. I took her out of the crate and put her outside to go. I knelt on the floor and pulled out her blanket and pad - eureka! She had buried a bully stick, a toy pretzel and another hard toy in her crate. The bully stick was sticking straight up between the wire, but under the blanket. I imagine it was poking her, and the other toys were making it hard for her to get comfortable. Silly dog! I brought her back inside and showed her what she did. Not sure if she understood but now I will check her crate to see what she may have hidden in there before bedtime! sheila and Misty
Oh Molly! Toby did something similar to that only he was outside the crate scratching and pulling at it-his treat was stuck wedged between the bottom and the floor and he was crying to get to it. OzGirl
Reminds me of the fairy tale "The Princess and the Pea" Except I suppose a bully stick is a bit bigger than a pea...
