SparkyJonesMom
This weekend we moved into our new house, complete with a fenced in backyard for Sparky. He has already investigated the perimeter, had an encounter with a little box turtle, and has tried to poop or pee in every area he could think of. It makes me so happy to see how truly blissful he is when he is just running around at full speed. He LOVES his yard, and he couldn't be happier. I'll post pictures of him outside in his yard this weekend. Right now we don't have the Internet at home, so I can't upload anything right now. But he loves it, and I love that he loves it! And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. SparkyJonesMom
Thanks for all the congrats to me and Sparky. The only problem I have to figure out now is how to get him back INTO the house when I'm ready for him to come in. He looks at me, then just turns around and trots off. Haha. tlwtheq
Thanks for all the congrats to me and Sparky. The only problem I have to figure out now is how to get him back INTO the house when I'm ready for him to come in. He looks at me, then just turns around and trots off. Haha. You might have to check a thread posted by Eli, President of Cairns United in Revolution (CUR) who was hoodwinked by, as he fondly calls her, the Alpha B. I think Eli's Alpha B calls herself mrseggcup. Bottom line is, mrseggcup was having no luck getting Eli back into the house. So she ran inside, leaving the sliding glass door open, and rushed to the front door where she rang the doorbell. Guess who came rushing inside? Don't remember the title of the thread but you might want to search for it! P.S. - may I join other forum members in congratulating both you and Sparky! HA, found it on page 2 of this search: http://www.cairnterrier.org/forum/index.ph...+door&st=25 Max and Nelly
dinib
I have the problem with getting Buckley to come downstairs with me. I have to shake a treat bag, or when he doesn't respond to that, open the squeaky mail slot door in the garage door (then he doesn't get at treat). SparkyJonesMom
I think I found a way to get Sparky into the house, but it's really ridiculous. I haven't tried it yet, but I will soon. It involves tying a treat to the end of a fishing pole. Then I'll cast it out into the yard and slowly reel it in until he's in the house. I want to try it just to watch Sparky chase a treat. TazTalk
Reeling in a cairn? Now, that's funny. Please post a picture of that!!! Cairn owners are very creative people .
SparkyJonesMom
Here are some pictures and a video of Sparky in the yard! I was just able to mow part of it today since we've had so much rain, and we still don't have a weedeater, so ignore the poor state of it. It'll get better! Here's a link to a video of Sparky running around with a tennis ball. Oh, and listen closely and you'll hear our neighbor asking if what he have is a Cairn! I couldn't believe he knew what breed Sparky is!: This is my favorite one: Sparky Jones & Scout Jones
