Not sure that the regional club concept has gained traction yet so for anyone in the PNW with an interest ...

    CRCTC Grooming Clinic

For those in the Northwest looking to learn more about Cairn grooming, the CRCTC is hosting a grooming clinic in March. I'm just a club member so no official connection to this other than helping get the word out: Grooming Clinic - Battleground WA. It's been a long time (2006) since we did one of these. The last one was well attended and very helpful. While sweeping up at the end of the day I built a "Hair Terrier" on the floor: And sure enough a dog promptly came along and did what dogs do

    Toto Trot 2014

CRCTC will post a summary article on its website in a week or so with all the details, but in the meantime here are a fews phone snaps and videos from this morning's Toto Trot. I think a good time was had by all and a few dollars raised for NORSAR. This way to the Toto Trot! It's good to make new friends This lady seemed popular. No doubt it was the cute dog. Off to see the wizard: Long walks are thirsty work Pin the tail on the Cairn The Poop Scoop Challenge - an event we're always training for. Nice a

A practice run: In the Barley Cup challenge, Drake and Oz ended up sharing the Barley Cup. The next-to-last race ended with a NASCAR style wreck (spectacular but harmless) with Drake dashing through the finish line while Oz slammed into the (padded) barrier, sending debris flying. A do-over ended with them in a photo-finish with both heads coming through the gap side-by-side. It was amazing. Since

    CRCTC Cairntastic Day

Beautiful day for a Cairn picnic! Perhaps a little lighter attendance this year than some (it's a difficult weekend schedule for many and conflicts abound), but for those lucky enough to attend it was a blast as always. Cammie was our Barley Cup winner. She might have been challenged by Brodie, but Brodie had to leave early so couldn't defend his position on the leaderboard. I saw a lot of cameraphones out so hopefully some photos will trickle in over time. I may have a video of one of the hot-dog-eating contestants on my own phone. Will dig that out in a bit. I had my iPad on a cha
