For those in the Northwest looking to learn more about Cairn grooming, the CRCTC is hosting a grooming clinic in March. I'm just a club member so no official connection to this other than helping get the word out: Grooming Clinic - Battleground WA. It's been a long time (2006) since we did one of these. It was a showery day but a few sprinkles do not in any way deter Cairns from having fun! Several participants promised to send me more photos. Here are a few, plus a couple youtubes. A practice run: In the Barley Cup challenge, Drake and Oz ended up sharing the Barley Cup. The next-to-last race ended with a NASCAR style wreck (spectacular but harmless) with Drake dashing through the finish line while Oz slammed into the (padded) barrier, sending debris flying. A do-over ended with them in a photo-finish with both heads coming through the gap side-by-side. It was amazing. Since

Beautiful day for a Cairn picnic! Perhaps a little lighter attendance this year than some (it's a difficult weekend schedule for many and conflicts abound), but for those lucky enough to attend it was a blast as always. Cammie was our Barley Cup winner. She might have been challenged by Brodie, but Brodie had to leave early so couldn't defend his position on the leaderboard. I saw a lot of cameraphones out so hopefully some photos will trickle in over time. I may have a video of one of the hot-dog-eating contestants on my own phone. Will dig that out in a bit.
