Sam can stare the best of us down until he gets what he wants! Never a waver in his eyes glued  on me until I  pay attention.

That's the stare that Scout would have. She would sit at my feet and not take her eyes off of me until I noticed her. Cairns do have a lot of patience at times!

Oh yeah.  Toto adds 'looking cute,' with a cock of the head if Momma is not paying close attention.  Dad gets the stare.
