While I'm no longer involved in the club operationally or through governance, I remain a member of the Cairn Terrier Club of America and recommend it to anyone who is enthusiastic about Cairn Terriers as a breed. I'm attaching an example of an informational flyer the club put together for anyone who wants to know just a bit more about why a person might join.

Things I enjoy about the CTCA include some of the great people  and amazing Cairns I've met, the outstanding yearbook and newsletter print publications, and attending when possible the regional and national specialties.

 

Anyone can go to a regional or national specialty, member or not, they are just a type of dog show. But joining the club gave me the motivation to travel 3,000 miles to attend  my first national specialty. Virtually every time I walked down a hotel hallway or through the lobby or crossed a parking lot I saw a Cairn or several—coming or going. What a treat to see a Cairn around every corner … even just thinking about it now makes me smile.  A national club like the CTCA makes those sorts of experiences possible.

 

We all love our dogs and they are all champions of our hearts. We all have limited time and attention and money so we all choose our priorities of where to spend those resources.  If the concept of the Cairn Terrier as a distinct breed has resonance for you, you may find interest and value in the Cairn Terrier Club of America.
